Dan, I know this may sound a bit silly, but, I use the McGuires classic car wax. There is one especially formulated for Corvettes (fiberglass) and it honestly makes my boat look great. It probably doesn't hold up as long as the Island Girl products but I don't mind because I do it once a year anyway.I start the process with Garry's Royal Satin cleaner wax then go over it with the McGuires. The results have been more than satisfactory to me.

Hi Dan, congrats on your purchase. I have had my Carver 28 for 4 years and love it. I have tried a lot of 3M stuff on my boat for cutting and waxing and it has worked out average at best. There is a guy on my dock that was using Island Girl stuff on his green hulled sailboat and the results were unbelievable. The stuff is very expensive and another guy on the dock and I may go in together to try to cut some costs and get some. Unfortunately old green hull is a real jerk and does not give out his secrets, so I don't know exactly which one he used. I will let you know what I find. My 84' is pretty chalky in some areas but I do not want to get super aggressive with compounds. Here is a link if you want to check out their stuff. I don't think all the steps they offer are neccessary. I will try to find out which one the ticket. If anyone else has tried the Island Girl stuff or know anyone that has, please let me know which is best or if there is a cheaper substitute that gets the same results.
