Hello.
We recently purchased a 1982 Carver Mariner 2896. I am starting some repairs to get her ready to launch May first. My question is one of the blocks that attaches the trim tab actuator to the transom is gone and I an not sure that the other one is all there. Does anyone have a photo of what these blocks are supposed to look like? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS
Mark

I'd say that is quite the home-made affair... and not factory produced...

... consider creating a proper block and duplicating on both sides?

Sounds like you have the same tabs as mine. When your brain firms up,lol, I would still like a photo if you can.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the info but my trim tabs are built into the bottom of the boat, made of fiberglass covered plywood. I just had them rebuilt as they were rotten. They do not extend out of the transom at all.The actuators push straight down, not on a angle. Thanks for the reply.

That is basically identical to mine.
Just above the water line and cut at about 45*.
(Although a piece is missing at the top rear of yours.)

Hope this helps!
PS My brain is still mush & forgot pic again...
Will try for this weekend.

That looks really odd. How is the other end attached? It looks like the wrong
angle, and looks too high on the transom.

Here is a photo of the trim tab block on my 2896. I need to know if this is the complete block or if parts is missing. if you can help me with this , please do as I will be launching in two weeks and need to have these tabs ready.
Thanks

Is this what you are looking for? this is an older version, and there would be a plastic plug in the orginal version, but I will use a stainless bolt with neoprene lock washer to hold the actuator piston in place.
