I have a couple engines for your repower if you need them. Will let them go for $1.8 mil. :)

Posted - 11/03/2009 : 06:00:05 AM My guy here says it's just a matter of relocating the mounts on the stringers and the aligning as you said.
He says it's pretty easy to do but then I guess anything is if you know how to do it.

Posted - 11/02/2009 : 9:52:26 PM Hey Bob, Are your mounts like mine (I have some photos on my old post)? If so, I would think the relocation of the angle iron mounts, or new ones if the spacing is wrong, would be very simple. Alignment is then done with the donuts on the engine.
I know that Rock's engine mounts are different, so I'm not sure when, why or how Carver changed their design.

Posted - 11/02/2009 : 4:56:49 PM I'll include the mounts. I have to have new ones fabricated and have no use for the old ones.
Yes, trannys are 1 to 1 Velvet Drive Borg-Warners.

Posted - 11/02/2009 : 4:03:32 PM Boy, if you could make them work, the GM is a much better marine engine than the Ford. (This is a personal opinion. I had a Ford in my Donzi, and did not like it much. GM have less weight/HP) My guess would be: new mounting, new fuel lines, new water lines, new shift and throttle cables. Maybe some rewiring, but not sure. If you get some measurements on your stingers and front and back clearance, I'm sure Bob can supply the same on his GM engines. The mounting would be the first thing to work out. Bob's transmission should also be 1:1 (mine are).

Posted - 11/02/2009 : 1:37:31 PM Bob, or anyone any idea how much would be involved with using the GM's in place of my 1974 Ford Pleasurcrafts with 1 1 velvet drives. I don't have V drives in my Montery.

Posted - 11/02/2009 : 11:34:52 AM Wow,
I wish I had this opportunity about 8 months ago!
I'm into my power train for about 9 grand, and I still need manifolds and I will still have raw water cooling...
