I AM GOING TO REPLACE MY BENCH SEAT ON A 1990 28 CARVER MARINER WITH 2 TODD PEDESTAL SEATS. I'VE SEEN PICTURES SO I KNOW IT WORKS. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE AND HAS ADVICE TO OFFER?[/font=Arial]

Thanks Jerry. I had previously replaced the bench base using starboard. It worked great, didn't need painting, and should last forever. Now the cushion and back need work. I think the helm seats will also give more support and comfort, especially for the first mate.

I took some marine plywood and recreated the frame of mine. Then took some Interlux Brightside white paint and painted it. Looks orignial and works great. But, if you are going to change to pedistals, you will need to keep them low, I would suggest a company in Clinton CT called Arrigoni Designs (http://www.arrigonidesign.com) They will make the pedistal any height you want and also have some very interesting mounts. They are not cheep, but they definitly will customize anything you want.

Regards, Jerry
