Going to try moving the wreck from it's current home in Baltimore to the Eastern Shore. I have a trailer that should work, and since the thing is basicly a shell it doesn't weigh much. Looking forward to getting the engines in this winter. Brrr. Hate doing stuff like that in the cold, but at least it'll be at the house where I can go inside and warm up!

HI YOTTYBOY,WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM YOU ON HOW THE BIG MOVE WENT. DID YOU GET HER HOME?

An unexpected storm front, namely my wife, caused me to change course and delay the move because it's more important to clear out the basement. I'll let you know when the move is complete. Maybe I'll even take pictures!

HOW FAR WAS THE TRIP?

From Bowley's Quarters near Baltimore to Brook's Creek on the Eastern Shore in Maryland. About 90 some miles.

WHAT DID YOU PULL HER WITH?

The Range Rover and a big 2 axle Load Rite that came with the other boat (see earlier post; Adding to the fleet)

ARE THE MOTORS READY TO GO BACK IN?

Almost. I did two more modifications which set me back a little. The first was to ditch the Ford Mustang EFI computer in favor of a Megasquirt system. The Ford box was way overkill for marine use and it is a "closed" unit. I don't need adaptive lookup tables, Mass Air sensors, electric fan control, or pollution control devices. I just need to control spark timing and fuel injection, plus the Megasquirt allows me to tune on the fly with a laptop or even a wireless Bluetooth PDA. I built the Megasquirts myself with mail order parts so I know they are fully functional and customized to my needs. http://www.msefi.com/msinfo/index.html
The second mod was to the exhaust system. I needed a way to install an oxygen sensor in the exhaust flow so that Megasquirt can adjust for rich/lean conditions. I had my brother in law make these up from solid steel which he water jetted and face milled. They are very nicely done and quite professional looking. In addition to the O2 sensor there is provision for coolant return/raw water in so that the raw water only goes thru the riser. I'd rather replace risers than manifolds!

I DON'T WANT TO SOUND TO NOSY ,BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW. WHAT ARE YOUR PLANS FOR HER?

No problemo dood. Since the hull has been lightened by removing the entire interior and heavy cabin, I'd like to keep her fit and slim. With the two fresh fuel injected 302s (now 308s!) at roughly 250hp each turning 17x17 props the thing should jump out of the water and fly. I had considered making a big center console out of her, but I think I'd like the option of using her as a guest cabin at the house, so it'll have a smaller, taller cabin than original, with a full double berth forward, a larger head/shower and a very minimalist galley. Think tiny jewel box of a cabin, very warm cherry interior with fine appointments and details. Enough for comfort and nothing more: a baby Hatteras. The steering station will be above this on a flying bridge enclosed with a hardtop and canvas sides. I like being up high when underway, and the flybridge will have standing headroom.

WHAT WATERWAYS DO YOU PLAN ON BOATING ON?

The Chesapeake of course! If I want to go to the Ocean, I'll take the Anacapri. Ocean City Maryland is about 60 minutes from the house, so it's concievable that one could go wreck fishing and get back to the house for snoozing in a day.
