Hi Paul, Sorry to hear you are putting your carver up for sale. I'm sure the decision wasn't an easy one. Hope the health issues that are forcing this decision are not too serious. I've enjoyed & found the info shared on your web site to be very helpful. Good luck. Dale

Hi Guys Thanks for the postings. My back has been badly damaged and this is a problem trying to maintain the boat. I do not want to see her deteriorate so I hope some new enthusiast will take over and get the enjoyment from her that I got. I will try to keep the forum going and will still remain a Carver fan. I get a lot of enjoyment from the forum and the friends I have met through it. Regards Paul

Paul,
About 20 years ago, I broke mine at the 5th vertebrea (sp?). (About where your belt rides.) It took a while, but I am fine now, just keep my weight low and the muscles in tone and I do fine! Believe me, I now really watch how I lift and use my back!
I would say it hasn't been all bad with taking care of it. Hopefully you fare as well!

Hi Paul, most sad to hear of your challenges and parting with your love of boating... well, maybe not the love, but certainly the boat. I do wish you all the best going forward as we all must do.
For my part I have completed the outside of my renovation on my Carver, with the inside rebuild scheduled for next year. However there are significant changes in my life as I am moving out of my home (everything is going into storage) and I will rent out, as I move from Ontario to BC to spend some time with my dad (91). While I will be leaving around mid November, I also hope to come back here to Lake Nipissing part of the summers to finish the boat, however nothing is certain at this stage. Meantime I do hope you will maintain contact with us all through your site - I will update my progress this winter (lots to show!).
Keep the Spirit alive... and Smile! ~ Steve |

Hey folk, we (dad and I and dog Brandy) decided to make a trip south and a few days ago made it to California (sunny and 88deg F) yay... for three months... (Desert Hot Springs) we have a sporadic internet connection, but came across this ... have a look... so much for a lookout - especially on autopilot! ~ Steve
