Okay, who's done em? ;) I'll be "that guy." And no, I don't have neon lights on my car, hahah
Underwater LED's on the transom look pretty bad ass. They require one little 3/16 in. hole to feed the wire.
Think this would be tacky?

Have seen the lights and they look pretty neat! Not sure about using them in our water here, kinda murky after a rain.
Is the transom cored on yours? My only concerns would be still meeting Coast Guard regs on Navigation lights (Although I see countless NEW boats that don't meet regs...) and possibly creating a leak into the core.
For party lights at dock/anchor sounds cool!

Personally, if I were to install underwater lights they would be under the swim platform only. I have never been a fan of non-essential holes in a hull.
But, that's just me.

Rock - I'm a future owner, don't have one yet. In fact, I've never actually *seen* a mariner yet. I'm stuck overseas for 1 more month then it's on. I'm curious on the regulations as well. It seems like they are growing ever so popular are new vessels.
Bob - agreed!

| I've heard of some that mount on the trim tabs. That might be kind of cool. You could change the effects by the position of the tabs. Gotta wonder though, how they would hold up when the tabs are deployed at speed. |
