I'm having some trouble with my trim tabs not deploying fully and moving way too slow. I think they need fluid but I don't know where the resevoir is and my manual doesn't tell me where it is either.
Anybody have a similar problem?

Hugh,
The trim reservoir on my 89 Voyager is mounted right between the exhaust outlets, right on top of the power steering reservoir.

If it's not there, just follow the two lines from the tabs.

On my 1988 Voyager the trim tab reservoir is not located as shown in the above picture. Rather, it is located above the bilge pump that you can see in the above picture.

My trim tabs also move quite slowly and only move about 4". I believe that is normal.

On a related note - remember that the trim tab motor can seize up if it is not used for an extended period. I found that out the hard way. The good news - if it does seize, it's not to hard to take it apart and free it up.

I fixed my trim tabs by taking apart the electrical connections, cleaning them and reconnecting everything with the proper heat shrink type crimp connectors. They are still not real fast but at least they work. I'd say it takes about 7 or 8 to go up or down. I think it should be more like 5 seconds.
