Has anyone used the Roller Method to paint there carver? I will be painting mine over winter and I cant afford a spray job, so im looking at painting with the Interlux 1 step paint(Using the Brush/Roller Method), I am changing the color from the original cream to a gloss white.. I also have thought about using RUSTOLEUM Paint? Not sure yet..
I plan on doing a basic wet sand(Hand Job) then applying Primer, then paint..
The only thing I have ever painted using roller and brush is the flybridge sole and cockpit soles with are both non-skid surfaces. Blemishes and stroke marks don't show up. I used Awlgrip.
As for hull and smoothe surfaces, I have ony ever seen one boat painted with brush and rollers and, honestly, I don't know that you will be pleased with the results.
Good luck though and please post some pics when you are finished.
My two cents ...... rustoleum would not be a good idea
Make that four cents. Rustoleum is not a good idea. I have used both Awlgrip and Pettit Epoxy and have had very good results with both with a lean towards the Awlgrip.
