Paul, I am experiencing significant problems with this forum... mostly page generation times, which run from 30 to 90 seconds a page (per the info displayed bottom left of the loaded page... but also with the content - will not display the current or any topics, even after using the drop down menu.
Some strange things going on, but the end result is the same - not user friendly. Since I can tell it is not my computer, but rather delays from the server, others must also be having some challenges. Problem seems worse in the morning than afternoon.
Enjoy your long weekend - rather wet around these parts sadly - we have had way to much water and the lake remains at the very high end before flood stage.
Regards, ~ Steve

just to point this out - I had saved the message above because it was so slow posting - said it had posted in the next page displayed (took 65.14seconds) and yet the post did not show, so I have now re-posted with this comment.

Hi Steve
Sometimes this seems to happen but I have had not much of a problem lately. It opened instanly just now. I have contacted the host and they have not replied as yet. Could be when they are doing maintenance. Sorry I cannot help further. As I offer it as a free service to members I am not in a position to spend any more on a more upmarket forum format. Regards Paul PS Enjoy your unfolding progress on your boat - thank you

Hi Paul, I would not expect that we should be putting more $ behind this effort, but rather was venting about the frustration I was experiencing.
Interestingly, I was booted off the forum, and when I logged back in, it has since been Much faster in responding. It may have been a problem related to the fact that I stay logged in for weeks at a time, so now if/when I experience trouble I will log off/on first before getting restless as this boating native is prone to do.
Thanks for keeping us going - glad you enjoy my unfolding 'progress'? lol ... sadly, I have made the decision not to splash her this year. I have only a few weeks time left before I have to stop work on her. Going to Switzerland for a couple of weeks, and when I come back I will be packing up and moving - everything is going into storage here and I will fixing up my accommodations and renting (and the workshop back into a small rental). Will be taking basics and going West in the Fall returning next summer (I hope), plan being to have the boat done enough to get her wet and then try to work on her while living on her. Yes, that will be a challenge since she still needs total interior rebuild.
Seems I put myself into some crazy situations - but life is not dull lol ... All the best ~ Steve |

Paul, just for the record. I log on each time I view the forum. It has always loaded quickly as it did tonight. Not more than one or two seconds to get to the home page. Took a bit longer tonight to get to the forum and had to open drop down menu, rather than clicking on a list. Load time was still under 5 seconds and seemed normal to me. I am on a second tier DSL line with download speeds of 2 meg
