The Sea Weed comes out of the water again next week after the worst summer since I have been in Canada. At the best we only have about 5 months of boating time here in Montreal and this summer has been dogged with rain and bad weather so not many hours were clocked. Last year I made the mistake of having her shrink wrapped but it destroyed the exterior varnish so I wont be doing that again, plus the smell of gas was hard to get rid of after opening. It took a month or so to get back to normal. I will be taking all th removable wood off her exterior and restore it over the winter. So next weekend will be 'Clear out the boat' winter prep time. Have a great weekend everyone. Regards Paul

Paul, you have a standing welcome to come and boat in Oklahoma. We start in March and will winterize mid November, just because there are other things to do later in the month.

Hey Paul,
I don't even want to think about pulling mine out yet, am definitely using the heat at night though! lol
Putting her up for the winter is kinda depressing!
Hope all goes well!

Paul,
I pulled mine in late September to get ready for my winter project, repowering. So far so good, I have both engines out and am working on the fuel tanks (see my other post). But, I have to say that this is the first fall that I pulled so early and I am definitly enjoying the New England fall with all the festivals etc. Usually, I am try very hard to get those last few days on the boat, that I miss the colors and the apple picking. Hope your wood turns out nice ... there is nothing like bright work on a boat ... I love wood ... it is the work I could do without.
Regards, Jerry |
