I have a 1983 Mariner. Since the boat has been hauled for the winter, I did a brief inspection of the exterior hull bottom. I noticed that both inlet strainers were not exactly straight, but each had a bent, unequal serration. I would like to replace both before further deterioration or ingestion of any pieces. Does anyone know whether these strainers are thru hull, or strainer covers.

Mine is a 1979 and they are Thru-hulls.
Suspect yours are also.
Have seen them on-line at a relatively low cost.
Look in the stainless rail fittings thread for a link to a surplus place in Florida, they have really good prices on their parts!
