Got both water and holding tanks out. The PO was nice enought to leave me half a holding tank full.. . So I had to carry in into the house in a five gallon bucket and flush it down.... nice! The the plywood mounts for the tanks are toast, and will need to be rebuilt. I also fixed the broken front hatch. Got a 2' x 3' 1/2 smoked plexiglass form a local sign company for $50. Cut and drilled, and I saved a couple hundred. I think I'll finish the water systems before I start removing the engines, I'm starting to get quite the pile of "stuff" outside.

Water heater is out, and all the rust has be glass beaded off. Going to install a by-pass for winterizing. Removed the macerator pump, and will NOT be putting it back in. (Anyone need a used pump?) Have all the old fluorescent lighting out, and have ordered new LED strips to mount with in the valance. (Anyone need some used light fixtures?) Should start getting the tanks and plumbing back in next week. I have also reworked the stereo with a smoked plexiglass door. Fun Stuff

Hey Woodboat,
I have the small lights that came from behind the curtain valance, maybe five units? Some have the cover, some didn't. I also have the larger unit that was over the mirror in the front berth. You will need to add the wire pig tails back on these units. The only one I will reuse with LEDs is the main light over the dinette.
I don't really want anything for them, if you want to pay the shipping, there yours. Send me a PM if you want.
Thanks Bob

Sign my wife picked up for me.... Kinda finished the stereo box. Back plate will need to redone when we get the new stereo. Added an alarm panel, will be connected to bilge pumps and water/holding tank levels. Added a couple access holes for starboard side.

And the wheel just keeps on rolling....

Finally got the new platforms done for the water and holding tanks. Got both tanks installed, fresh water pump, shower drain pumps, and bilge pumps back in. As I was not going to reinstall the macerator pump, I had to replace the deck fitting and the 1 1/2 hose to the pump out fitting on the tank. This was quite the job, but it's in. I ordered a piece of StarBoard to remount the toilet. The PO had installed it on plywood, that looked like crap, and would not have held to the use of the shower.
Next is the wiring, then the floors, and get the dinette recovered.
Hope to get the engines out by October ....

Installed a Seelevel tank monitor with sending units on both the fresh and black water tanks. This unit works very well. I put two senders on the fresh tank (17" tall) and one on the black tank (11") tall. Each sender is 12" long, and can be cut, and stacked to make the length you need. Have most of my electrical done, and will be starting on the flooring next.

OK, have the engines about ready to remove. All wiring, fuel, water lines and output shafts are disconnected. (the transmissions are coming out as well with the engines). So, my question (Rock?) can I remove the bolts that go down through the engine mounts without changing the alignment too badly? These mounts are the alignment adjustments and look like they can be turned with a bar (once the bolt is loose). I know a realignment will need to be done, but I would like to get it close as possible.
Thanks Bob

Hey Bob!
If you remove the bolts that hold the mounts directly to the engine blocks, they will bolt right back in place. They will basically have the same alignment that you have now.
The same with the V-drives, remove only the bolts that actually hold the mounts to the case of the drive. The entire assembly will then lift right out.
Have seen where they state that the alignment has to be with-in .010" etc. I believe you should get the alignment as close as possible, however, your boat flexes FAR more than .010" under power, so as close as possible, but wouldn't worry TOO much about it.
Hope this helps!

Almost ready to pull the engines.
Rock, I can see what you are talking about, but if I remove the center bolt, and don't rotate the adjustment, wouldn't that work as well?

The flooring looks good Bob!
I believe you can remove the center bolt on yours and be fine, not positive though, your mounts are different than mine.

Rock, Yes, I think I can remove the bolt in the center (1/2") and leave the "L" brackets on the stringers. I will then mark, remove, and store the engine mounts before the engine tare down.
Has anyone had good/bad experience with the stock carburetors? I don't want to invest in a carb OH if they are junk anyway.
Same for the ignition, are they any good, or should they be replaced?
