Hi guys, new member/Mariner owner here.
I've had two custom canvas outfitters quote a new full enclosure on my 28' Mariner. All existing framework would be used, and they would have to travel to the boat to do the work.
Enclosure quoted has 30mil windows on all 4 sides, and removable screens on three sides.
Both companies were around $4,200 for the enclosure and front window cover. Does this sound like a fair price? I knew canvas was going to be expensive, but damn.... that's a lot of money to put into a boat I only paid $12k for.

As far as price goes, I can tell business up there must be really bad. That's a very good price assuming they are reputable companies with a good work record. Have you seen any of their installations on other boats? The price sounds almost too good to be true at least compared to the same sort of work here in Florida.
It also sounbds like you made a good buy on your boat. Would like to see photos of her.

That sounds about right.
Purchased the material to do the same thing and am sewing it myself.
Cost of material was about 2K.
Heck of a lot of money for a cover, eh?

Thanks for the replies!
Both companies have done boats at my marina and are very well respected. I've seen other boats they've done and they do nice work. I was a bit shocked as I had budgeted for $2,500, but it sounds like I might have not taken into consideration the amount of labor/travel involved.
Jimbo, she's pretty clean but I still have a lot of buffing to do before I post pictures (I've only buffed below the rub-rail so rail so far). |

Lol, just want to get mine done right now!
Had the material last year, just was tied up with my oil spitting engine! Grrrrr lol
Hoping with the new engine, will have more time to finish the enclosure this year!
