I have a 1977 33' Carver Mariner with twin Chrysler 360's recently rebuilt. I installed new Osco manifolds and risers all around but wanted to test for leaks before letting water into the system. Ayone have any idea how I can test them to be sure there is no blow-by around the gaskets into the cylinders? A few years back, installed a new water pump and did not realize the water heater heat exchanger had ruptured causing the new water pump to push 40psi into the manifolds and blow by into the cylinder causing a total engine replacement. Once is enough :-{.

Hmmm, good question. I've installed a few exhausts and risers in my time but, other than running the engine, I'm not sure how to pressure test for leaks.

My recommendation would be to call Osco and see if the have a tech help desk and ask them.
