I want to thank the moderator for this wonderful forum. I would like to introduce myself & tell you the story of my introduction to carver.
My Dad picked up a Mariner at an auction about 24 years ago. It had gone through a hurricane & was beat up. He had great intentions but no time. The boat had been sitting for about ten years when I asked him if I could put it back together. At that time all I knew was how to have a good time on a boat. But Thank goodness I am a whiz at reading & implementing knowledge. I basically lived on this boat for 2 years or it felt like it at hour 18 per day. I seriously worked for 2 years at 18 hours a day X7. I re-cored her. Stripped all the interior wood, filled the grain & 12 varnish coats later... Looks like glass. Engines are both rebuilt. It was almost done when I bought a home that needed my TLC more. She has sat in my driveway for the past 12 years.

Just yesterday I uncovered her & was contemplating selling. Today I found this site & I am enthused once again to finish her.

When I was actively working on her there was absolutely No info online. I am so thrilled that there are other people out there that appreciate the beauty of this boat. Again my Thanks to you. I have all the paperwork ie wiring schematics etc if any one is interested.

Wow! Sure would like to see some pics of her. It sounds like you have done an incredible amount of work. Please share the results with us.

Welcome Melanie. I hope you get your boat in the water soon. What model year is it?

Hi Melanie

Thank you for the kind words of appreciation for this forum.
I started this when I could find nothing on the Mariners and it has grown beyond my wildest dreams with many knowledgable Carver enthusiasts willing to help.
I hope this helps you to keep your Mariner and get her back in the water again.
Good luck
Paul

I have read some of the posts on here & Love it all. My boat is a 1978 - 2896. twin Crusaders. I will take some photos. I think I still have some photos from when I first began many years ago. I spent a good part of the day re-oranizing my new shopping list. First thing on the list is wire & lots of it. I am wondering if I should just change out all the gauges for new instead of waiting to find out if they work.
