Boat is all ready to head to the Bahamas on Friday the 16th. Plan to spend the 16th and 17th in Daytona beach and party just a bit with the Bike Week folks then a leisurely cruise down the coast to Stuart. From there will cross over to either West End or Bimini, depending on the weather.

Below is a link to my "Spot" page so anyone interested can click it and keep track of where we are.

Photos and information will be posted as we can and a full run down when we return.

Sounds like a great trip. Just in time for the good weather too. Good luck with everything.

The "spot" program is very cool.
We'll be "watching" you, so be nice! :-P

By the way, Bob
What is Ft Myers like?
(The Cummins dealer is looking for a salesman there)

I haven't been to Ft. Meyers for quite a while but I do a lot of fishing in that general area. If you like to boat and fish there are very few places better on the planet. Ft. Meyers, Ft. Meyers Beach, Sanibel Island and Cape Coral are absolutely gorgeous.

Plus, right now is a very good time to go there as the housing market has been crushed and really nice houses can be had for a song.

If you don't want to go tell them to call me.

Crossing over to West End doesn't look good until Friday night at the earliest. Oh well, need to stock up on more beer.

Friday? So you will spend another 5 days in Daytona Beach, or head south a bit more?

The Marina you found looks really nice.

Hope you are having fun.

Heading way further south. In Titusville right now and will probably end up in Jupiter or Palm Beach for the crossing. Palm Beash to West End is only about 60 miles.

For now, it's windy and cold.

Can you believe this weather down here? Last week record highs. This week record lows. Somewhere in between would be kind of nice. I'm betting it's been pretty rough for you the last couple of days. Over here on the west coast we've had 3-5 ft seas. It's supposed to get back to normal by Wednesday though ( mid 80's 1-2 ft seas). What crusing speed have you been managing?
I agree with you about the beauty of the Sanibel area. We don't go as far south as Ft Meyers because there are too may people for us there but we love the Sanibel, Captiva, Cayo Costa,Boca Grande area. Who wouldn't.
Good luck with your crossing. Should be a piece of cake in a few days.

Well, we're going to scratc the Bahamas. Winds and seas are nast, getting nastier and look to stay that way for a while. So, we're going into the Okeechobee Waterway and cross over to Sanibel. From there? Who knows. Depends on the weather and the fishing gods.

Most of the time I've been cruising about 7.5 to 8 ktn and getting about 1.6 mpg doing so. Today got sick of the wind and waves ro ran on plane at 16.5 to 17 kts and got about 1 mpg.
