Having just purchased a 1977 carver mariner..28ft, I'm interested in knowing just what limitations it has in operation on the ocean,,,generally sheltered waters where we fish but several runs in open stretches of water must be navigated in order to reach our favorite salmon and halibut grounds..any advice or recommendations..area fished in --Prince William Sound, Valdez Alaska
As Mariners tend to be fairly lightly built, I'd stay in port when it gets blowing above 25 knots and the seas are running more than a few feet. You don't want to be shipping green water over the bow. As they say in motorcycling: never go faster than your guardian angel can fly.
