I have been thinking seriously about changing the TR-II stern leg to a more modern leg, still mercruiser but am not sure what size leg to get, will it fit where the TR-II came out and will it be strong enough for the size of boat.
I am unable to get the bits I need which include a new gimbal housing but am also of the understanding that the TR-II is a very solid reliable unit.
Who out there has a Mariner with anything other than a TR-II stern leg. How is it and what size engine is driving it. I am still convinced I will install Diesel.
Any suggestions please.
Paul

Think of eletric power??? I only go on inland waters so speed not a problem, did some reseach on it and it will not take much to move the boat and can cruise for 8 hours on a charge at 7 knots..
Just an idea..Any feed back on this..
